(Oxford Dictionary)  \n“Art/design is the ability to objectively consider ideas that contradict each other”. Parallel design is the process of designing several solutions for the same design problem. The idea is to explore multiple options and approaches to produce more valuable outputs.   \n\n In our exploration of the theme Parallel Universes\, we will not only be looking at multiple options and approaches\, but we will also look at parallels from both a formal and conceptual perspectives. What happens when we use contrasting perspectives and concepts together? What happens when we use the elements and variables of design to create contrast\, emphasis\, and dynamic form within the figure ground relationship? And this year\, in collaboration with the Fashion Design Department\, we’ll examine the above in relation to human body as well.  \nThis exploration culminates in our 59th Annual Fashion Runway benefit which will take place May 9th\, 2024 starting at 7:00pm at the Alex Theatre in Glendale\, CA.
